The kermesse, sponsored from the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin And conceived by the MT Magazine mixology project in collaboration with the non-profit social promotion association Eat Bin and the event planning agency To Be, will include a busy schedule of events within the National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento, in Piazza Carlo Alberto. Here it will be possible to discover, both in purity and in blends, the references of 21 small, medium and large producers of vermouth. There will also be space for meetings with industry experts, to discuss topics such as the birth of the aperitif ritual, the many variations of this aromatized wine, its use in mixing, pairing with food and the stories of the protagonists who still produce it today. The public will have the opportunity to participate in interactive, mixing and tasting workshops, where they can experience first-hand the thousand nuances of this product.

museum of the resurgence turin

One could not speak of the first edition of the Turin Vermouth Show, without mentioning those who, first of all, believed in this new stage of Turin mixology. They are the most important realities at a production level, those who drive, in Italy and abroad, the consumption of this product, chosen by the best bartenders in the world and by millions of enthusiasts of the theme: Antica Formula, Carpano, Mancino Vermouth, Martini & Rossi, Punt e Mes and Vermouth Gran Torino 1861.

The vermouth it is, however, also the story of a territory. Ours. And who, better than the local producers, can communicate its truest essence? Precisely for this reason, alongside the big names that everyone knows, there could not be a lack of local ambassadors: those realities that daily carry out a work made of research, dedication and mastery. These are Alpestre, Bordiga, Bosca, Cucielo, Doragrossa, Franco Cavallero and Vermouth Il Reale.

To anticipate and accompany the two days, from 19 to 25 February there will be the Outside the Vermouth Show, which will take place in the best restaurants and cocktail bars in the city, respectively protagonists with menus specifically designed to be paired with the references of a producer of Vermouth, and themed drink lists. The Fuori Salone will also take place in two representative places in Turin: The Carpano Museum, located inside Eataly Lingotto which tells the story of the Vermouth and the Lavazza Museum.

In the headquarters designed by the architect Cino Zucchi, the vermouth will be available to taste, after the visit to the Lavazza Museum, in its pure form and mixed with coffee, while on February 20, the event space of the hub – La Centrale – will host the Vermouth Contest Special Edition, an evening that will see the best bartenders in the city compete, preparing signature drinks in front of an exceptional jury, made up of industry experts and the public.

vermouth contest

Turin is the history of vermouth and has long deserved a place where it can express itself 360°, in front of the people of Turin and enthusiasts of the theme" declares the creative director of the Vermouth Show and projects in the mixology field MT Magazine And Mix Contest Italy Tour, Laura Carello. “I sincerely hope that this Show can become one of the Italian mixology events not to be missed.”.
